Many thanks for your lovely birthday card. I was very happy about it and also much surprised how much you can already write. As you can see, it's harder to write for your granddad because I rarely do it. I hope you still had some fairly good weather so you could enjoy the Baltic Sea. Greetings to your Mum and Dad, your Granddad and Aunt Gerdie.
Mum shall think of the cherries
At one of the last days on Usedom I received a postcard from my Grandpa. As you can see, cat content was king in the eighties as well. I have no idea what was up with the cherries, but probably my Mum knew 
. Getting your own mail is always a big deal when you're a kid.
