My personal Amazon Charts

While I tend to rant about Amazon's API, I'm very happy with them as a customer. About one and a half year ago I made a little chart on how much I've spent there over the last years. And because I just finished the majority of my Christmas shopping, I thought it might be worth to revisit the numbers…

Let's start with the expenses:

My projection from last year did not hit home. I've spent much less than expected in the second half of 2011. But this year it seems the downward trend stopped.

But was there really a downward trend at all? Not if we have a look at the number of orders placed:

It's more or less steady upwards and that's confirming my gut feel. Amazon is more and more the go to place for just about everything. This year I ordered something about every two weeks on average and that this number is likely to increase. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but it's how it is. Maybe it's time to subscribe to Amazon Prime.
